"You told me you were fine"

This picture pretty much sums up my halloween weekend.

I have been experiencing a constant hangover since yesterday morning but I went out last night anyway. This, my friends, was a big mistake.

last time I drank too much "soda" was when minion KC was here and decided we needed to drink for the pats game. After taking 7 months off from alcohol it took about 4 beers for me to think it was okay to get on stage with the live band and sing taylor swift to the bar... and then go home and toss my cookies (if you don't use that phrase you need to start because its the only way to make puking cute). So, according to Stacy's telling of that story she was home studying when KC and I barged in and ran to the bathroom and Stacy, who has had more than enough experiences with me drunk, knows how it works and laughed her ass off while she heard KC in the bathroom keep saying "you told me you were fine!!"

This was our tag line for last night and we said it after every drunk thing that happened..

Last night I was a circus ring leader and I crafted the most adorable little top hat out of foam and superglue and wore it on a head band. This little project taught me a very important life lesson; super glue is the devil. This morning I woke up face down with the headband super glued to my head and i literally JUST got the glue out and I had to hulk out on the headband and break it to get it out.  I lost about a pound of hair in the process but I consider it a success because I did not need to get an emergency pixie cut. I texted Ali and told her that waking up like that was worse than the morning I woke up and my pillow was stuck to my head because my gum fell out of my mouth. I ran to moms room balling my eyes out with a giant pillow stuck to my face. I have no idea how she kept a straight face for that one.

Did everyone see Ali last night?! She looked AWESOME. Should have won a costume contest. She sent me a picture last night and I immediately thought, "ThasssssiiTTT" (if you dont know, see the you tube vid below right now.. and then imagine yourself on a 6 hour road trip with Ali responding to everything you say with, "ThassssiTTTT". because that happened and im scarred for life)

Other quotes from the night :

"Nice costume buddy, better luck next year"
- completely unprovoked comment by me to a guy in a capitals shirt pretending to be a hockey player

"This is not where I live. Keep going."
- literally couldnt recognize my own apartment building and got in a fight with the cab driver as stacy tried to pull me out of the backseat

Happy Halloween:) So glad its over.

Last Weekend

Last weekend was glorious.

A complete disregard for all homework and tons of adventures!

We first went to this "secret" beach about 5-10 minutes away that someone gave us a tip on. Its actually just a park with a bay beach... not a secret but it was very quiet and pretty and there was a family there setting up for the itsy bitsiest wedding you've ever seen. adorbs. No more than 12 chairs. We walked on that beach and found a bunch of beached jellies! (no stingers) so we had fun rescuing them by tossing them back into the waves until one of Stacy's imploded during its mid air journey and we realized we might have been doing more harm than good.

After that we went to a little park about 2 miles from our apartment that I found while I was running. It has a really long pier out on to the ocean and its located almost directly across the bay from Downtown Tampa so it's a very pretty view of the sky line.

While we were there we saw a big group of dolphins swimming about 30 yards away! There was a ton and they were all jumping and flashing their tails. At the end of that pier is a restaurant called "Taste of Boston"... coincidence?! I think not. Because the menu looked crazy good. Ill let you know how it is after I eat there. Now right across from that park we found a horse farm! and passed some time watching the pretty horsies and wondering why our parents never obliged when we asked for a pony for christmas every year.. (still waiting mom).

Sunday I took a long bike ride in the beautiful weather and then I ventured out to an island preserve I saw on google maps about 10 minutes from our place. (literally have no idea what i would do without google). The "island"(definitely only a peninsula) had a bunch of "hiking" (no change in elevation) trails. Hence the picture at the beginning of the post.. and heres some more:

^ this is real but doesn't it look like "get off the road!!"

this upcoming weekend is halloween as you all know so there will be more to post about those adventures later:)

first of many

Tonight I decided to be responsible. I decided to stay in on Halloween Thursday to begin to tackle the staggering pile of work I have this weekend. What you are reading is a prime example of lengths I will go to in order to procrastinate. So, I've started a blog!

Its a much more efficient way to tell you all what I am up to since our family is so large and our mass emails and texts become extremely confused when people press "reply" when they mean "reply all" and "reply all" when they really only want to "reply". So we all end up hearing only parts of the conversation but believing that we know it all. Until we get together and realize that half of us booked flights to Miami for christmas while the other half thought we were having dinner with Peg and Bud and Joe's at the Henderson's because he hasn't checked his email in two years and he lost his phone.

I have plenty to say at any given moment but its often too much to relay the same thoughts to each one of you in kind so heres a virtual dump of all my thoughts that you can peruse at your leisure.

Enjoy kiddos... (see what i did there? its funny cause your all old)
